The PNG image format as we know very well is used by a lot of people because it uses lossless compression and is supported by both the web and almost any image manipulation software. And also because of its great level of Transparency.
With its nice quality, PNG files are slightly larger and takes up a lot of time to load on web pages, which isn't good for the user experience. Here's a quick guide on how to make PNG images smaller without loosing quality.
Make PNG Images Smaller
As i always love surfing the internet, i found a really cool site - TinyPNG which uses a technology I know nothing of (but again, guessing, i think it does it by reducing number of colors and removing unnecessary metadata...) to shrink PNG images without sacrificing the image Quality, TinyPNG helps you make PNG files smaller, so that the webpages you use them on load faster.
In terms of file size, the results can be impressive.
To start, visit TinyPNG

You can either drag the file you want to shrink on the dedicated field or click the respective field and upload your PNG.
After that, TinyPNG will work its magic. It will display how much the image has been reduced, both in terms of percentage and size.
If you want quality screenshots and other photos on your site, and reduce their size, without much variance in quality, TinyPNG is a great tool for the job.
If you're a Photoshop user, TinyPNG provides a plugin for it too.
